World Flight Ready to Continue

Daily Report

by Lt. L. P. Arnold, "Chicago", Mechanic

Today we loaded up on fuel and Nelson [Lt., pilot of "New Orleans"] launched #4 ["New Orleans"] & refueled -- so now all is in readiness to depart.

The Italian advance agent has been here a couple of days -- a naval officer named Marescalchi & very pleasant.

The ships were all to pull out tonight but everything indicates stormy weather & a gale for tomorrow, so that the whole program was postponed one day.

The Richmond entertained at tea from 5 to 7:30 -- a number of people from town coming aboard. Later we returned to hotel & I did missionary work for Lowell [Smith, Lt., World Flight Commander & pilot of "Chicago"]
