World Flight Waiting for Good Weather

Daily Report

by Lt. L. P. Arnold, "Chicago", Mechanic

Again fog along the route although clear here. The morning Smith [Lt., pilot of "Chicago"] spent on maps, etc. while Harding [Lt., mechanic of "New Orleans"] & I played the Victrola, read, and talked with Damon Runyon who is here covering the flight for Universal.

In the afternoon some golfed, some slept, and Harding, Runyon, and self went to Kirkwall for an hour, returning aboard ship at six. Spent evening wandering around the ship, down in engine & boiler rooms, radio room, etc. -- bed about 11.
