Weather Delays Next Hop

Daily Report

by Lt. L. P. Arnold, "Chicago", Mechanic

Instead of arising at 4 we arose at 6 -- the delay being caused by adverse weather reports. We breakfasted on fresh trout caught by Smith [Lt, pilot of "Chicago"] yesterday afternoon & put the planes in readiness to depart. About 10 it was raining in Labrador & at some of the boat stations, foggy, so the trip was called off for the day.

In the afternoon some went fishing, some mountain climbing, and some spent the time reading. The movies again entertained during the evening but no Northern Lights appeared. By 10 all were in bed, except Bissell [6th Division Advance Officer] -- who stands the night watch on the radio weather reports.
