World Flight Delayed Waiting for Ice to Clear from Greenland Harbors

Daily Report

by Lt. L. P. Arnold, "Chicago", Mechanic

A big party went out by auto to some place 40 miles from town to see the hot springs, geysers, etc. as the towns guests. None of us went as we expected to pull the planes out of the water but on account of rain this was postponed until tomorrow.

We spent the day roaming the town, looking the shops over, and buying souvenirs. The Rask being held firmly in ice & unable to proceed Augmasolik there is no need for us to hurry to Greenland. The navy & newspaper men are impatient & want to keep going -- but so do we & we've been out longer than they have.

In the evening, the Billingsley had us all out for dinner, later coming ashore for the evenings festivities -- a Welsh piano player.
