Daily Report
by Lt. L. P. Arnold, "Chicago", Mechanic
The motor installation being completed, all three planes were run outside and the motors warmed up -- outside of a few minor adjustments everything was O.K.
Then #2 ["Chicago"] was moved to the erecting shop, the landing gear removed, and the pontoons attached. The "dolly" was not quite correct & required some changes so we did not move the plane back to the other hangar, though as far as the plane was concerned we could have done so.
In the evening some of us went to the village pub which is widely known in this locality -- we all drew the longstemed clay pipes & wrote our names on them -- so then when we return, the pipes will be hanging there awaiting us. So the story goes anyway.
