World Fliers Continue Preparing Planes

Daily Report

by Lt. L. P. Arnold, "Chicago", Mechanic

Today we went over the plane ["Chicago"] with a fine tooth comb and removed every article & tool not absolutely essential & thus cut down our weight considerably. The tools & clothes removed we are sending forward with the Richmond [US Navy Cruiser] & hoping we will get them in Boston -- especially the clothes, for otherwise I'll arrive in a sweater & pair of rubber boots.

The evening was spent in the usual way -- all grouped around a table.
